Our Mission

Paddy Kavanagh

Dear Colleagues,

Despite the fact that we are a small nation, it is well established that the apprenticeship system in Ireland is amongst the best in the world. Year on year, our Irish apprentices bring home a medal haul from the International Apprenticeship Competitions.

Through the recent years of economic recession Irish craft workers, affected by the downturn in the economy, were capable of moving to the four corners of the world where they were welcomed because of their well-known capabilities.

However, as time moves on and more innovative ways of working are developed the skill needs throughout the Irish economy are changing .This requires an element of up-skilling or ensure their skills remain relevant, thereby increasing their employability in high end sustainable employment. Listed in the following pages there are a substantial number of courses that have been developed by ETOS to date. Other similar courses can be developed to meet the changing needs of Industry.

What We Do

Technical Skills Training:

With the exception of on-line courses the majority of the courses are organized on a group basis with a particular employer.

It is sometimes possible to build a local network permitting a number of workers from local employments to participate in the same courses on a regional network basis.

Depending on the type of training being sought ETOS may need carry out a Technology and skills audit to ensure that we provide courses at the right level and that they address the skills need of the workers.
